Vanity Fair Digital Edition App Reviews

I love how beautiful the app is. The photos, the articles are all easy to,see/read. HOWEVER, I have tried everything I can think of to be able to read articles in landscape view and cant figure out if its a design problem or user error. In either case, it needs to be fixed. It is impossible to,read vertically on an iPad. Im in landscape mode almost all the to,e, th articles on VF are not. Please fix the rotation or make it more obvious to,me to make that happen. Because turning my device doesnt work.

I can view older issues in landscape mode but not the latest. I really dont like this. Means I have to take my iPad out of the keyboard case and hold it in my hands as opposed to sitting on it on my lap or on the tray table on airplanes. Really awkward.

I love Vanity Fair but I cant read it in landscape mode with the iPad app. Very frustrating. Shocking this hasnt been fixed.

I called Conde Nast Digital customer service and they confirmed that landscape mode has been DISCONTINUED PERMANENTLY on new issues of Vanity Fair for the iPad. Call them at 800-365-0635 and complain bitterly! Latest issues (Feb., Mar. 2015), wont switch to landscape mode on iPad, but older issues still do (within the same app). Looks like theyre trying to save on programming by releasing same version of content on both iPhone and iPad, but it just wont do. The magazine is beautiful and I love it on the iPad, but reading it without landscape mode is just too awkward. Please bring it back!

This app hides the fact there is an auto renewal when you sign on. Plus couple with the fact that it is not the easiest way to actually turn that off makes you feel like youre being compelled to purchase for something you dont really want . Cheap tricks from a company that is no different to porn sites .

Ive tried and tried, over different OSes on my iPad, to get issues to download. But Im constantly getting an "Error during download" message. Uninstalling and reinstalling havent helped. Frustrating, and missing lots of issues.

The iPhone 6 + has been in the public for months, yet no update to this app... Reading fuzzy text is just painful. I am canceling until they update the app.

I really like reading VF on the iPad but it I hate that it only has vertical orientation. Please go back to the previous version where I could switch to horizontal.

Looks like VF has gone to a portrait-only display for the app since February 2015. Thats really too bad as the landscape orientation really showed off the great photography much better. As with everything Im sure it was a cost-saving measure, but the magazines design is weaker because of it.

Used to be able to read this magazine in the landscape view. Now I have to take it out of my keyboard stand and hold it vertically in my hand. HUGE inconvenience. Hate it.

Months go by. Last update to app was 2014! Ridiculous.

Cant even read my favourite magazine. Got the beautiful cover but no article whatsoever. It reverts to the prior issues arrivals. The worst update ever!

Download app. Buy subscription. Download. Go to read issues. Need to download again. Try to download. Download wont work. Reset password. Doesnt work. Delete app. Start over. And again. And again... You get the picture. Dont waste your money. After two years of living with this app Im sadly saying goodbye Graydon Carter.

I agree with the other reviewers, not being able to read in landscape is so frustrating. I havent read the last few months, because I cant prop it up while I am eating my lunch, and if I am out side the portrait orientation will not work with sunglasses on.

For reasons unknown, VF has decided to permit digital viewing in portrait mode only. My iPad viewing preference is set up for landscape viewing. VF permitted landscape option in the past. Only the most crude digital magazines use portrait only. Sad to see VF going backwards. Whatever happened to choice?

Im very disappointed not to be able to read this magazine in landscape view. My favorite thing to do in the summer is to read VF on my iPad while on the beach, and I cant see my iPad in portrait view with my polarized sunglasses. Please fix this. Then, Ill go back up to a 5 star rating.

The app wont allow scaling or rotating to see photos. Im lucky I can read the text because it appears there is no zoom either.

This had worked great for years, and now, because my latest issue wouldnt load and I deleted and am now trying to re-install, it wont install! This is crap, I hope its fixed soon, dont want to have to lug the magazine with me as I travel...

This app is well thought out but curiously it has not been updated since November 2014. It needs to be updated to use the full resolution possible on iPhone 6 and 6+. This is a trivial update for the app developer.
